Hello and welcome to my page. I first joined Hospital Radio Plymouth in the early 70s when it was first set up in a tiny upstairs room situated in New Street on the Barbican. My first 90 minute programme was broadcasted from a purpose built studio at Greenbank Hospital. Since those days vinyl LPs and the 45 rpm records have since gone. Time has changed somewhat, with the introduction of a new transmitter on 107.3fm and increased power broadcasting 24/7, we are now able to reach even more listeners in the Derriford Hospital campus. Technology moves fast these days, not only can you listen to Hospital Radio Plymouth on 107.3fm, but in addition our programmes are available via a Tablet, Smartphone, Smart Speaker and of course a Laptop Computer. This form of media has proved very popular with listeners not only in Derriford hospital, but in Residential and Care Homes in and around Plymouth.
This brings me to my programme The Six O’clock Show, with music from the 50s; 60s and 70s, plus much more, guess the year, our weekly quiz and birthday celebrations and not forgetting our young listeners with [Marley and Me.
